Cop claimed aggressive youth who swung at him had reached for his gun, at which point he fired his gun at the youth in self defense. Newly released surveillance footage.. shows cop running up behind the youth, then smashing him in the head with his gun in a surprise attack...

You claim that you've been falsely ticketed "dozens and dozens" of times. That is, quite literally, a minimum of 48 times.

My point about you speeding wasn't that speeding without getting caught one day justifies getting a false ticket the next day...it was that taken along with a claim of ~50 false tickets, your "i wasn't speeding that time" claim reminds me of the old truism that everyone in prison is innocent, just ask them.

Sorry if I was unclear. I have been pulled over dozens and dozens of times by unfriendly and power hungry police. I have only been cited a few times for violations I did not commit. The other times I was definitely speeding. My point was that I never got a warning, and was never treated kindly. I was even held at gunpoint because I had an airsoft gun in the car. I wasn't even holding it, and it had an orange barrel! I never mouthed off to the police when I was pulled over (I have as the passenger though). The way they treated me was fucked up, and that is where my opinion comes from. I will treat each cop with respect and give them the benefit of the doubt given a meeting. However, they always seem to let me down. The only exception was less than a month ago with the Colorado officer. He was the only kind one. I even called the police one night because a guy I knew was acting insane and threatening myself and other people. What did they do when they got there? They fucking started hassling me, trying to find some reason to cite me for disturbing the peace and public intoxication! I called them to help with a guy at a party for fucks sake! Never again. I handle my own shit from now on. They have just let me down too many times.

EDIT: Ok, I see how confusing my wording is. I have been pulled over many times for violations I did not commit. I have been cited only a few times for violations I did not commit. I have never (save for the Colorado incident) been given a warning and let go for a violation I did commit. I have been cited many times for violations I did commit. So I have indeed been given warnings for fake, made up violations that the officer knew he could not get me on. I don't count those as the officer being nice. Does that make more sense?

I think he might be lying. Nobody puts cookies in their pants pocket.

The Chicago City Council just voted 43-2 to decriminalize possession of marijuana.

Replying to slybrows · He should have said that it's already de-criminalized if you're white *in Chicago*. The cops here are pretty. fucking. racist.

All the Chicago cops are pretty? Damn!

Earth’s richest 1,000 individuals now control as much wealth as the poorest 2.5 billion people on the planet. This super elite uses its vast wealth to control the media, influence politicians, and bend laws to their favor.

While I agree, the poverty line here in the US is slightly higher than many countries. I've seen things in Egypt, Mexico, India, Africa etc. that are on a whole other scale.

Aurora shooting victim could face $2 million in medical bills because of lack of health insurance

Replying to [deleted] · This. Hell, my grandfather was in the hospital after a stroke for three weeks before passing and his total bill for everything was ~$17,000,000. Yep, that's not exorbitant at all

While I agree medical costs are out of control, I have a hard time believing that your grandfather's 3 weeks stay cost $17 million!

Is it true? Did the baby-boomers take advantage of the social programs their parents created and cemented, then voted to dismantle those same benefits for their children in the name of freedom, individual responsibility, and more benefits for themselves? Can a generation be that selfish?

This is what I was thinking. Perhaps the cycles will shift or change entirely, given our new ability to transfer knowledge faster. Why do the cycles always have to be the same, or happen at all, regardless of innovation
