Cop claimed aggressive youth who swung at him had reached for his gun, at which point he fired his gun at the youth in self defense. Newly released surveillance footage.. shows cop running up behind the youth, then smashing him in the head with his gun in a surprise attack...

"I could smell marijuana/alcohol coming from the vehicle"

Regardless of them smelling it or not, and worse yet....FINDING anything, its their word against yours. They can drag you out of the car, beat the ever loving piss out of you and all they have to do is say "he resisted arrest" and poof.....dash cam footage suddenly becomes "unavailable".

Wait, where did alcohol and weed come from? I did have that happen on another occasion though. I had just eaten a Powerbar®, so apparently my mouth was slightly green. He said that is a tell tail sign that someone has been smoking weed. I had also been snowboarding all day, so my eyes were a bit red from the reflection on the snow. The cop started saying that I was smoking on the mountain and driving high. He told me to open my trunk so he could find the weed. I did not have any, and of course was not high, so I let him have at it. He kept me there for 40 minutes trying to find my supposed weed, to no avail. Then he cited me for speeding once he realized he could not get me on drug charges. One of my friends, who was a foreign exchange student from Germany, was also in the car. He was dumbfounded at what had just happened. I told him, welcome to America, where the cops lie and the facts don't matter.

Replying to ipretendiamacat · I'm not quite sure I get this... he's just grabbing cocaine powder and stuffing it in his pocket? I don't know his cookie policy, but I'm fairly certain the drug users would be car

I think he might be lying. Nobody puts cookies in their pants pocket.

The Chicago City Council just voted 43-2 to decriminalize possession of marijuana.

Replying to slybrows · He should have said that it's already de-criminalized if you're white *in Chicago*. The cops here are pretty. fucking. racist.

All the Chicago cops are pretty? Damn!

Earth’s richest 1,000 individuals now control as much wealth as the poorest 2.5 billion people on the planet. This super elite uses its vast wealth to control the media, influence politicians, and bend laws to their favor.

While I agree, the poverty line here in the US is slightly higher than many countries. I've seen things in Egypt, Mexico, India, Africa etc. that are on a whole other scale.

Aurora shooting victim could face $2 million in medical bills because of lack of health insurance

Replying to [deleted] · This. Hell, my grandfather was in the hospital after a stroke for three weeks before passing and his total bill for everything was ~$17,000,000. Yep, that's not exorbitant at all

While I agree medical costs are out of control, I have a hard time believing that your grandfather's 3 weeks stay cost $17 million!

Is it true? Did the baby-boomers take advantage of the social programs their parents created and cemented, then voted to dismantle those same benefits for their children in the name of freedom, individual responsibility, and more benefits for themselves? Can a generation be that selfish?

Replying to torpidnotion · The generational theory doesn't take into consideration the proliferation of technology. It's especially true that in the past 20 years, technology has shortened this cycle. Ther

This is what I was thinking. Perhaps the cycles will shift or change entirely, given our new ability to transfer knowledge faster. Why do the cycles always have to be the same, or happen at all, regardless of innovation

What are the implications if having a gun in your car, then getting pulled over for criminal speeding. Are you breaking firearm law then too, or is that overlooked?
