"I've had extensive training in guessing. I work at the county fair when im off duty guessing all sorts of things. Ages, weights, sexual orientation. Hell, one time I even guessed we were gonna have a black president some day. You know what, 6 months later it happened. No shit. Some say I have a gift. I say it's just something I do to make the streets a little safer. "

I got a ticket in TN about 2 years ago. Was in the last 30 minutes of a 10 hour drive and a car that was the same make and model as mine, and just a slight shade of color different went blowing by me at about 100 mph. Didn't think much of it. 3-4 minutes later a TN state trooper closed in on me and pulled me over. Said he clocked me at 95 in a 70 in the rain. I had my cruise control on at 75, but he didn't care to listen to what I had to say. He was almost at the AL state line, so the guy he actually clocked was long gone. Plus me being out of state, he knew I wasn't going to drive another 20 hours round trip and pay $400 in gas money to fight a $250 ticket.

That happened to my friend! It was in San Diego. Him and another car his same model pulled up to a stop sign. My friend stopped, the other guy rolled it. My friend got pulled over and was going to get cited for not stopping at a stop sign. Total BS! The cop threatened to arrest me for yelling at him from the passenger seat. I told him that he pulled over the wrong car. I saw that he had his glasses hanging from his shirt. I asked him if what his prescription was, and if perhaps he would have seen properly if he was wearing them. He let my friend go under the guise that he also grew up in Arizona, and he was being nice. We knew it was because we called him out for not wearing his prescription glasses. If he was being nice, why did he threaten to arrest me?

Six Boston cops fired after testing positive for cocaine have been ordered reinstated — with back pay

Replying to ipretendiamacat · I'm not quite sure I get this... he's just grabbing cocaine powder and stuffing it in his pocket? I don't know his cookie policy, but I'm fairly certain the drug users would be car

I think he might be lying. Nobody puts cookies in their pants pocket.

The Chicago City Council just voted 43-2 to decriminalize possession of marijuana.

Replying to slybrows · He should have said that it's already de-criminalized if you're white *in Chicago*. The cops here are pretty. fucking. racist.

All the Chicago cops are pretty? Damn!

Earth’s richest 1,000 individuals now control as much wealth as the poorest 2.5 billion people on the planet. This super elite uses its vast wealth to control the media, influence politicians, and bend laws to their favor.

Replying to [deleted] · No many of them live in this country. This country is a seething shithole of an exponentially growing extreme poverty class. 46.37 million Americans live below the poverty line a

While I agree, the poverty line here in the US is slightly higher than many countries. I've seen things in Egypt, Mexico, India, Africa etc. that are on a whole other scale.

Aurora shooting victim could face $2 million in medical bills because of lack of health insurance

Replying to [deleted] · This. Hell, my grandfather was in the hospital after a stroke for three weeks before passing and his total bill for everything was ~$17,000,000. Yep, that's not exorbitant at all

While I agree medical costs are out of control, I have a hard time believing that your grandfather's 3 weeks stay cost $17 million!

Is it true? Did the baby-boomers take advantage of the social programs their parents created and cemented, then voted to dismantle those same benefits for their children in the name of freedom, individual responsibility, and more benefits for themselves? Can a generation be that selfish?

Replying to torpidnotion · The generational theory doesn't take into consideration the proliferation of technology. It's especially true that in the past 20 years, technology has shortened this cycle. Ther

This is what I was thinking. Perhaps the cycles will shift or change entirely, given our new ability to transfer knowledge faster. Why do the cycles always have to be the same, or happen at all, regardless of innovation

What are the implications if having a gun in your car, then getting pulled over for criminal speeding. Are you breaking firearm law then too, or is that overlooked?
