MDMA Supplementation
Original post in this thread

Ok, I did promise that I would make another post regarding supplementation to mitigate MDMA induced neurotoxicity. I have just been putting it off. Since my last post, I have gathered more information regarding my theory about MDA metabolism being the main cause of MDMA's neurotoxic effects. I will try to not get into that in this post, and keep this mostly about supplementation. As seems to be the norm with me, this may be long winded. Obviously everything I put on this list is not necessary. I will be placing supplements into different categories, with reasonings and references. I will let you decide which ones will be a part of your regimen.

Essential Supplements:
* Alpha Lipoic Acid- This is one that everyone should be taking. It is a powerful antioxidant that scavenges reactive oxygen and nitrogen species. It also has a nice benefit of regenerating other vitamins, like C, after redox cycling. It exists in two enantiomers, R-ALA and S-ALA. R-ALA is the biologically active isomer that we are looking for. Most supplements a…

Other questions about Quercetin https://www-worldsbest-rehab.translate.goog/quercetin-and-mdma/?\_x\_tr\_sl=en&\_x\_tr\_tl=fr&\_x\_tr\_hl=fr&\_x\_tr\_pto=sc
Apparently it also says that its interaction with the CYP2d6 enzyme could potentially increase the potency of MDMA in an abnormal way and that might be risky. I saw the part where you were reluctant to keep this supplement but were you informed of this dispute? Do you think its facts are plausible? If so can we just take the Quercetin for other things (downhill for example or with kratom or other) ( or psychedelics) although I think if the CYP2d6 enzyme turns out to be plausible better not to mess with the psychedelics on that.
What just puzzles me about quercetin on its combination is that EGCG also changes the CYP2d6 enzymes and yet it is recommended.
Also ALA would be more cost effective than NA-R-ALA but the latter would need half the dosage to be as effective as ALA but I have heard that it is 10 times more bioavailable. Is that why the dose is halved? Or will the 100 mgr be much better than the 200 mg of ALA because the 200 mg will be poorly assimilated compared to the 100 mg of NA-R-ALA?

Inhibiting CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 will both increase MDMA serum levels. This is why you have to be careful, as it might make the effects too strong. Inhibiting the metabolism is good to prevent the toxic metabolites. You just need to keep your doses reasonable.
Regular ALA sucks. Na-R-ALA is much better from both a peak plasma and AUC standpoint. The S-ALA will inhibit the R-ALA, which is why racemic ALA is always worse than Na-R-ALA.
