NMN formulation change

Has anyone else noticed a difference in efficacy between the old NMN tablets (sized like a small cylinder) versus the new one (sized like a small disc)?
I thought it was placebo at first, but with the old NMN, I noticed a profound increase in energy and well being. With the new NMN (disc shape), I notice nothing.
Thinking I may be tricking myself, I experimented on my wife. When I give her the old NMN, her energy noticeably improved. When I give her the new one, no difference.
I’m curious if anyone else has had this experience. I know /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb has mentioned the enteric coating on the new NMN is superior, but I can’t help but notice my consistent, personal experience.
UPDATE (Feb 2022)
They must have gone through several iterations, because the magic is back on my latest purchase. I’ve seen 3 different tablets — the cylinder (original), a larger flat circle with a powdery exterior, and the most recent, a smaller circle with a smoother exterior.
The only version that didn’t work for me was the one with the powdery exterior. The newest version works GREAT, perhaps even better than the original.
What they were answering

Not to be controversial. I’m a loyal zealot who has a cupboard full of ND supps.
I was actually having an issue with the old “small cylinder” NMN version and I wasn’t alone:
The pills weren’t breaking down and they’d appear in stool (sorry I know TMI)
They said though the issue was with my GI system which I felt dismissive but ironically though they were also in process of changing something with the enteric coating production. And oddly enough I was having the same issue with the green tea/piperine enteric coated pills. But I never had any issue with other enteric coated supps or other pills I was taking then too.
So maybe it has to do with the new processing now. Just my two cents.

Most enteric coating shit on the market is just lying, based on our testing. Most "enteric coated" stuff we test on the market dissolves in simulated gastric juices in 30min, which is NOT enteric. Our tablets actually are enteric, as they survive many hours in simulated gastric fluids. However, our first formulation perhaps protected them too much for some people. They performed flawlessly at protecting the tablets from stomach acid, but you and other people like you had issues with them fully dissolving in the small intestine before excreting them in your stool. That's obviously not ideal. We did not dismiss you. We reformulated them to have a larger surface area and a different coating to ensure they are still protected from gastric juices, but also dissolve faster once they are in the small intestine. This is why we are here now. We reformulated for people like you, and now other people are complaining about a totally different thing. LOL. So we certainly didn't just dismiss your issues. We revamped the formula because of it. Now some people might be thinking they are not as strong. I have not personally noticed that, nor would the data indicate a reason for that. However, I am going to do more testing to get to the bottom of it. I actually took one of the new flatter tablets this morning after seeing this post, and I am pretty damn stimulated right now. So it will be interesting to see if I can tell a difference blinded, or if anyone on my team can. I am also going to have a full dissolution panel run with the old and new tablets side-by-side, to get that data.
