NMN formulation change

Has anyone else noticed a difference in efficacy between the old NMN tablets (sized like a small cylinder) versus the new one (sized like a small disc)?
I thought it was placebo at first, but with the old NMN, I noticed a profound increase in energy and well being. With the new NMN (disc shape), I notice nothing.
Thinking I may be tricking myself, I experimented on my wife. When I give her the old NMN, her energy noticeably improved. When I give her the new one, no difference.
I’m curious if anyone else has had this experience. I know /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb has mentioned the enteric coating on the new NMN is superior, but I can’t help but notice my consistent, personal experience.
UPDATE (Feb 2022)
They must have gone through several iterations, because the magic is back on my latest purchase. I’ve seen 3 different tablets — the cylinder (original), a larger flat circle with a powdery exterior, and the most recent, a smaller circle with a smoother exterior.
The only version that didn’t work for me was the one with the powdery exterior. The newest version works GREAT, perhaps even better than the original.

I was just pondering many of the issues you brought up in this thread the other day. Is it possible to create a non-government/non-profit, reputable, QA agency for the supplement industry? You and your team can’t be the only company committed to excellence, there have to be other companies out there that feel the same way. Right? Couldn’t y’all form a coalition to institutionalize quality and combat the systemic issues of bullshit products, science, and marketing? And possibly even lobby for real change in the industry?
Maybe I’m being naïve, but it seems to me if ND helped create and standardize quality assurance practices, consumers would catch on. It would work like a seal of authenticity; something that basically says, “coalition of reputable companies like ND have reviewed the practices of said company/product and have concluded this is legit”.
If all of this is grounded in the wishful thinking of dream-land, then it appears ND will have the market dominated down the line. Especially as your product inventory grows, y’all will be the only ones us consumers can trust. Just seems like if the community of trusted vendors were able to expand under this hypothetical coalition, product diversity would increase, and a healthy dose of competition would keep everyone involved on their game.
It starts with educating people about the issues stated in your rant, and I know it’s n…

There are certainly some companies out there that feel similarly to us. I have no doubt there are some trying to change things for the better, too. What you are describing is like an industry association. That is something I have thought about for a while. It would be nice to setup an industry association of like-minded businesses all trying to change the supplement industry for the better. It would be self-funded by the companies in the association, and it would set strict guidelines for how the companies would need to treat production standards, lab testing, QA/QC, etc. Then any business in the association that is audited and found to meet the standards could be certified. I have it all planned out in my head. The issue is organizing it all and getting other businesses onboard. I think that is a challenge that could be overcome in time. It would definitely be something I would get fulfillment out of creating. I think the only meaningful change will have to come from within the industry itself.
Thanks for the support and encouragement! We have a long way to go, but I am proud of how far we have come!
