NMN formulation change

Has anyone else noticed a difference in efficacy between the old NMN tablets (sized like a small cylinder) versus the new one (sized like a small disc)?
I thought it was placebo at first, but with the old NMN, I noticed a profound increase in energy and well being. With the new NMN (disc shape), I notice nothing.
Thinking I may be tricking myself, I experimented on my wife. When I give her the old NMN, her energy noticeably improved. When I give her the new one, no difference.
I’m curious if anyone else has had this experience. I know /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb has mentioned the enteric coating on the new NMN is superior, but I can’t help but notice my consistent, personal experience.
UPDATE (Feb 2022)
They must have gone through several iterations, because the magic is back on my latest purchase. I’ve seen 3 different tablets — the cylinder (original), a larger flat circle with a powdery exterior, and the most recent, a smaller circle with a smoother exterior.
The only version that didn’t work for me was the one with the powdery exterior. The newest version works GREAT, perhaps even better than the original.

We reformulated the NMN to have a larger surface area, as some people were having the older smaller tablets pass through their system without breaking down. The greater surface area will allow people's GI tract more ability to dissolve and absorb it. We also reformulated the enteric coating to be a bit lighter, as the old one was pretty thick. We still did the dissolution testing via our Distek machine, and it is performing as an enteric coating should, per USP. I also took a new bottle and dumped it into an old one, so I have been taking a mixture of the old and new tablets every day. I have not noticed a difference personally. However, it is part of a larger stack of mine, so perhaps I am not noticing a slight change. I'll do some more formal back-to-back testing of each type, and I will do some more enhanced dissolution testing to confirm it. These should dissolve faster once in the small intestine, though. That was the goal of ours, to prevent the issues with some people passing them through completely undigested.
On that same token, we have done a lot more testing with the newer synthesis methods of NMN and stability. Now that we are confident the NMN currently made is stable, we are going to be releasing NMN in powder form, along with higher dose capsule form. We'll probably do a sublingual tablet form as well. However, powder and capsule forms will be first. That will give people an alternative without the variable of enteric coating to deal with.
