Yeah honestly the design of the study is quite shit and its sad that there have not been any further, more robust, studies done on schizophrenia. Im not vouching the the study design or anything, but from the actual studies i have seen on currently used antipsychotics and ones being trialed right now, the drop in PANSS scores are very significant for a lot of them, the girl for example dropped 64 points! Thats crazy! Another one dropped like 48 points meaning she was probably not a severe outlier (atleast in this sub group of schizophrenics). There were others that had more moderate reductions in their PANSS scores such as one person had a reduction of 13 points, which is very close to the reduction seen in placebo groups on actual trials of pharmaceuticals, this person did however have large improvements in other scores that i am less familiar with and noted himself that he felt better and was surprised by the improvements. And the others had significant but more moderate PANSS improvments with reduction of 28 points and 22 points. As a comparison, the semi newly approved antipsychotic cobenfy (an m1-m4 agonist/ partial agonist being the main mechanism of action) showed a reduction of PANSS score by 21 points, vs placebos 12 points, meaning there was a 9 point difference, this effect size was in some ways comparable to the most effective antipsychotic, clozapine, where clozap…

Also i think that they do claim a standardisation of 0.5% hericenones and 6% of god knows what. I think i might have seen somewhere that the hericenones were included under their secret 6% sauce, but i could be making it up and the study claims specifically 0.5% AND 6%. So im not sure.

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9274390/ "Amycenone is an extract from Yamabushitake, containing 6 % amyloban and 0⋅5 % hericenone. Amyloban and hericenone are active ingredients contained in Yamabushitake mushroom, and amycenone is standardised to a certain amount."

Good find! However, if it is not on the product label, then why? Are they not confident in the number enough? 0.5% hericenone is also kind of meaningless. Which hericenone? Do they mean hericenoneS? If so, which one are in their STAG? How are they measuring them? Also, 0.5% is good. That's what our next batch of our 1:1 will be.

Here is the chromatogram

0.493% hericenones and hericenes. You can also see which hericenes and hericenones make it up. This is also literally 1:1 material. It's not a concentrated extract. We are making a concentrated extract of this material as well for our updated potent extracts. We have some cool shit in store!

Regarding the bioavailability question, that makes sense, i knew something was going on since ive tried it and noticed that something was going on. Unfortunately im not as read up on the pharmacokinetic/ dynamic side of things, and there were some studies being cited that, at least from the surface level analysis i did, did indicate that bioavailability would be poorer. But i know this is very complex and sometimes less extraction is better because the associated chemicals that are not being extracted for can help absorption for example, i think that was the case at least partially for cistanche for example. I know that there is vast historical use of lions mane and they did probably not extract all mushrooms that they used medicinally, but they still seemed to work, so there is something going on, i think emiel also mentioned something about some mushroom i think that would naturally create its own micelles that would increase absorption that way, and that it would be lost by extracting, i think, probably misremembering something. So its obviously complicated, always nice to get science backed reassurance though.

Yeah, it is always more complex than people assume. Narratives get started on certain subreddits, then people parrot them around like they are fact. However, we have whole scientific teams on multiple continents doing this research, and multiple actual placebo-controlled studies. In fact, we are currently working with one of the largest research organizations in the world that is looking into our Erinamax for some really interesting effects they saw in the lab. We are discussing our cooperation on a larger study right now, so hopefully you will see us as co-authors on some crazy research coming out in the future. The initial data they found in stem cell cultures was pretty ground-breaking, so I am excited about that. I have to be careful what I say because of NDAs, but some interesting new research is in the works by other independent organizations on Erinamax. You are also going to start seeing Erinamax being sold by other brands soon. We are working to distribute it as an ingredient for use in their products. I am going to say for sure that this time next year, we are going to be having very different conversations around it as an ingredient.

Also probably for the best to stay off reddit for the most part lol. But whenever you feel like you want to self harm, feel free to come back and ill make sure to pester you into spending a solid 30 minutes at least to answer my questions and explaining why my demands are unreasonable lol!

Yep! That's the conclusion I came to. My mental health is just better when I stay off Reddit for the most part. There is too much drama. I prefer to just put my head down and focus on our work instead.

Those two studies are the ones i had found that seemed to be associated with you guys, nice to see it confirmed. Would it be fair enough to assume that anything that has 0.5% erinacine a is probably you guys?

Nobody else has 0.5% erinacine A lion's mane. If you see that, it's either us or someone lying.

Yeah that makes sense, its quite a shame but unfortunately money is a factor lol. If it does end up taking a long time to release something like a mycelium extract due to money reasons, i bet you that if you guys made a limited edition mycelium extract thats standardised to erinacine a and something else cool, like you did with your mushroom drinks kind of, even if it was 2× as expensive, i think people would buy it, just as a novelty thing to try out, even if they cant fit it into their stack. I have no clue how this would look on the production/ logistics side of things though.

It's also time, machine availability, and staffing. I can throw all the money I want at things, but sometimes it just takes a lot of moving pieces to get certain things done. We are working on it, but time is one thing we can't speed up.

I forget, did you guys have reference standards for only the hericenones or the other ones too like the hericines (i forget all the other groups)?

We have standards for all the labeled compounds in our method. That's currently 11 hericenes and hericenones. We can also see a bunch more other compounds, like hericerins and other compounds, using our mass spec. However, we don't have standards for those yet, so they are not part of our assay method yet. It doesn't mean we can't see them and estimate them, though.
