may or may not be the place for this, but the dose recommendation for mag glycinate powdered form is 1200 mg twice daily with a 14% elemental magnesium content. This seems like a lot, does this seem like too large of a dose?

Do you happen to know if Dr's Best: Magnesium Glycinate contains any magnesium oxide at all? The label says it only contains Magnesium glycinate/lysinate but I am skeptical. (https://www.iherb.com/pr/Doctor-s-Best-High-Absorption-Magnesium-120-Tablets/15)

The claim 100% chelated. So it should not have any oxide. I have not tested it, though.
Any product that you see that says "buffered" has oxide in it. They use some chelated magnesium, then buffer the elemental magnesium levels up with oxide.
