We did. I just wish I could test one of their exotic products. I figured it would be just way too expensive for me, yet I think could potentially save a lot of people's health.
Here's what I think:
1. Claim product X contains 1mg of Allopregnanolone per serving, yet in reality it only contains 0.5mg. That's under-dosing, effectively stealing 50% of your cash. That's bad, and fairly common. We've seen it before.
2. On another possible case, product X doesn't contain any of the claimed substance, but just another non-harmful substance. Let's say L-lysine. Now that's a complete scam; so you lost some cash but health-wisely you should be OK.
3. On the worst scenario, product X doesn't contain any Allopregnanolone. It actually contain a whole different substance; something that would initially give you some sort of a noticeable boost. Could be anything. Can be even testosterone. Something noticeable enough to give you the claimed benefits on paper, or can make you feel like shit when you go off. So you buy it again, until it wrecks your health if you are unlucky.
Now if you ask me, I bet scenario #3 is the one likely. If you go through their promotional threads on that forum, you see some hints. Some people report weird side effects. Here's the post by a redditor who claimed t…

The issue is that I tested people's products and called brands out for years. That's how I got started in this industry. I was testing and calling out shady companies before I ever decided to sell nootropics. However, as we got bigger we got a bigger target on us. We started getting attacked by the companies I called out. They would try to get us dropped from our banks and card processors. They would pay people in China to hijack our Amazon listings and get them removed from the listings. They would report us to the FDA and even FBI in one case. We had death threats sent to my team, myself, and my family. We had one incident where they literally said they were on the way to our building to shoot everyone, so we had to have the police sit outside just in case they were serious. I was personally hacked and had hundreds of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency stolen from me. It was getting bad, and both my team and my wife pleaded with me to stop. This is why you don't see me releasing test results and publicly calling out companies as much these days. It's not that the industry has gotten better. It's not that brands are properly testing and have good quality control. It's that I had to step back a bit to protect us from the blow back.
Even when I showed people the results and proved to them they were not testing, it didn't really change a whole lot. I mean Bulk Supplements and Swanson still sell a ton, even though they don't properly test anything and I have tested countless things from them that have failed. You get people saying I am just trying to sell more by making people distrust our competitors. Sometimes me calling out companies feels like I am farting into the wind. Clearly most consumers don't care about the quality or lab testing of the products they are putting into their bodies as much as I think they should. I guarantee you that I will find failures if I test some of their products. It's pretty much a guarantee. I've tested so many things out there that have failed, I can just assume it now and be right 95% of the time. It's very difficult and expensive to properly test things, which is why most brands don't. Also, they are violating all sorts of regulations by making medical claims on their products like they do. However, would me showing results saying their products don't contain what they claim actually accomplish much?
I will talk it over with my lab director, though. Maybe we will just buy their vitamin E and their pregnenolone and DHEA and see what we see in the lab.
