Ashwagandha(KSM) and Libido Experience
Original post in this thread

I decided to add KSM to my daily stack to aid into getting more serious about my weight training routine. I thought everything was fine until I realized that I wasn't getting aroused with my gf, and when I did I couldn't really keep it up. This is the total opposite of me 4 days ago before I started.
I know that the science states the opposition where Ashwagandha tends to boost libido and Test but this is the only change to my stack.
In the future, I think KSM is more situational for a stressful time period like at work or a major life event, but on a daily basis, be sure to take note if you notice anything weird going on down there.

>The Ashwagandha root extract employed in the present study, KSM-66 Ashwagandha (from Ixoreal Biomed Private Ltd., Hyderabad, India), has been extracted with a unique
processing technology producing a broad-spectrum phyto-pharmaceutical that potentiates the action of Ashwagandha manifold, providing pan-therapeutic effects.
Our data are in agreement with many investigations reporting improved sperm parameters including sperm concentrations and sperm motility [21–23]. The study by Mahdi et al. [22] compared the effects of Withania in smokers and those with psychological stress, whereas the study by Ahmad et al. [21] focused on the oxidative biomarkers. The observations reported in these studies and the current findings reinforce the beneficial effects of Ashwagandha in maintaining good sperm health and treating “male factor infertility.” In the present study, treatment with the Ashwagandha root extract resulted in a higher level of testosterone and a concomitant increase in serum levels of LH among infertile men having suboptimal testosterone levels before therapy. Apart from spermatogenesis, testosterone also controls the functional competence of the accessory sex organs, as adequate seminal fluid is necessary for the survival and motility of spermatozoa. Thus, it is postulated that the probable reasons of the increased sperm concentration and motility in the present findings lie in the higher levels of testosterone. These observations have been reported by other workers investigating the fertility-enhancement potential of Ashwagandha and other herbs and minerals [21–23].
2.1. Study Material. The HCARE used in the present study was KSM-66 ashwagandha, a water-based extract made by Ixoreal Biomed of Los Angeles, California. We chose this extract because our hypotheses center on treatment with HCARE and KSM-66 is currently the highest concentration extract (as assessed by withanolide fraction) available on the market. The use of a publicly available extract like this increases replicability of our procedures by other researchers. Starch powder was used as placebo. We provided the extract and the placebo powder to a local laboratory which then put these into hard gelatin capsules of identical size, shape, color, and texture.
Ashwagandha is shown in the literature to be an anxiolytic, antidepressant, and antistress adaptogen. It has been found effective in stress-induced sexual dysfunctions in animal models. The withanolides, steroidal lactones, are said to be the important phytochemicals of ashwagandha and among the active constituents responsible for the therapeutic efficacies of the plant [19].
We find that the improvement in the FSFI scores from baseline to week 8 is statistically significantly greater under HCARE with counselling than under placebo with counselling, for the number of successful encounters and the FSFI domain scores for orgasm, satisfaction, lubrication, and arousal but not for desire and pain and the number of total sexual encounters. The explanation for why HCARE treatment was useful in reducing FSD may lie in two pathways: (1) ashwagandha’s role in reducing stress, which in turn is associated with FSD, and (2) ashwagandha’s role in increasing testosterone which is a factor in androgen deficiency syndrome which in turn is also associated with FSD.

You should certainly listen to your body. However, KSM-66 usually does the opposite, and improves sexual function, cardiovascular endurance, sperm count and motility, erectile dysfunction, and premature ejaculation. I personally get improved sexual function while on it, and so do the vast majority of the people that I talk to. I just don't want people thinking KSM-66 does this normally. It actually does the opposite, yet I already see people in this thread freaking out, and automatically assuming they are now going to have poor libido. Anecdotes certainly matter, and they should be discussed. However, the science shows the opposite, and people should understand that. The vast majority of people are going to notice improved libido, increased testosterone, improved sperm function, and improvement in premature ejaculation with KSM-66.
