Noopept: Distinct difference in taste between Ceretropic and Powder City.

I have noopept from both Ceretropic (W0713) and Powder City (150219), both purchased this spring. The Powder City version is more granular and metallic, like tianeptine, while the Ceretropic version is fluffy and has a kind of alkaline, detergent-like note, but still bitter.
Is this normal? Has anyone else tried both and can compare the effects/taste? I'm wondering if I'm getting different chemicals here.

Ceretropic - A new employee of ours thought it smelled like honey. I tried it and have now reprogrammed myself to think that Noopept smells like really good unprocessed honey. Delicious Noopept!
