US FDA to Looking into Potentially Regulating Caffeine?

What they were answering

silverhydra · 2 points

I agree with you in that things shouldn't have a get out of criticism free card and also agree that acetominophen (hell, that and the NSAIDs as well) could definitely have their risks more well known of.

I think where we differ here is when you believe that people would be receptive to being informed of the risks. The people I have worked with and met who are at most risk for abuse are exactly the same cohort who will willingly ignore information to defend their own preconceived notions. I recall that being a standard defense in psychology (although demonstrated with politics and religious opinions with preliminary evidence that it applies to health as well).

(I base most of the above off of those who need their 'Timmy's' fix up here in canada. There is an astonishing amount of illogical defense and refusal to learn when somebody attacks their caffeine source; unfortunately, its pretty common even beyond this demographic of people).

That means the information is not being presented to them in a useful fashion. People naturally become defensive when their actions are called into question. They base their arguments on emotion and anecdotal info right off the bat. However, that type of reaction can be mitigated by the method and tone of delivery.

It has to be positioned in such a way that allows them to still partake of the substance, and see the benefits, but then follow with the risks and ways to mitigate them. People's preconceived notions can still remain intact. However, you must make it seem like they made the decision to alter their behavior on their own. They must feel like they made the right decision based upon facts that they acquired. It's simply a strategy that doesn't get implemented often.

New Vendor Launch! www.ceretropic.com

The time has finally come to launch our nootropics site! For those of you that don’t know, a fellow Redditor, /u/guacamolium, approached me a while back. He was interested in starting a nootropics vendor, and thought par

Has anyone tried Excelerol? I'm interested in trying it because it is apparently one of the best nootropics out there, but I'm a bit suspicious because I've never heard anyone talk about it on this subreddit.

Yep, my fault guys. I'll just stop posting, and things will get better. It's all on me... You can all go back to caffeine/L-theanine, long winded modafinil, and "does piracetam work" posts. No need to advance the communi

A Note Regarding Ceretropic's Caffeine/NALT

TLR were not telling people the ingredients. I never expected them to explain their production processes. I expected them to tell people the compounds they were consuming, rather than giving them proprietary names. I did

What is the best nootropic for someone looking primarily for a boost of energy and motivation that's stronger than caffeine but less extreme than amphetamines?

Replying to [deleted] · In case anybody wants to accomplish this with drugs, I've been using 60mg vyvanse + 1g psilocybin mushrooms for a while. Take both with a hardy meal and 2 glasses of water.

Are you joking or serious? You take amphetamines and a low dose of psilocybin as nootropics?

Less may be More

Replying to Reeses007 · Totally agree with this. I would recommend people trying ingredients by themselves in order to build a stack that they react well to. I've never understood the mentality to use abs

This is a big problem I am seeing with people new to nootropics. They want to immediately jump into a stack, and do not want to put in the time to try thing by themselves, and see how each one affects them in isolation.
