US FDA to Looking into Potentially Regulating Caffeine?
What they were answering

I honestly wouldn't have a problem with an age restriction (say 15 or 16) and regulations on the marketing to minors.
Caffeine (and alcohol!) are drugs. Commonly used drugs (I wouldn't live in a country that banned caffeine) certainly, but they are still drugs. Another issue is that energy drinks combine caffeine and other unregulated psychoactive drugs (L-Theanine, etc), which I don't know how I feel about...

And I think our alcohol restrictions are too much as they are. 21?!? I can fight for the military and make legal decisions, but not have a beer when out with friends? That's crazy!
I think people should be more informed on the risks of high caffeine drinks. However, I think the decision should still rest with the individual.
