If you've seen my comment below, I live in the US. I have been to the hospital multiple times in the last few years. My sister had major brain surgery a couple years ago as well. There is no way I can come up with a 3 week hospital stay, no matter what procedures were done, that would cost $17 million.

While I agree, the poverty line here in the US is slightly higher than many countries. I've seen things in Egypt, Mexico, India, Africa etc. that are on a whole other scale.
