My bad- you are correct. That explains why the concentration of Erinacene-A in the first study of approximately .05% matches that of a non-extracted product. I was confused as to why the concentration was not higher in the first study, which is what I would have expected in an alcohol extracted product.
\-On a side note, how much dried mycelium powder can be produced in a single fermentation cycle in one of those 20-ton fermenters? Each cycle taking 12 days, it would seem that this company can produce a massive amount of product.. Perhaps this will lead to lower costs as more of these fermenters are built.

The yields are much lower if you control the conditions for high erinacine-A, which is part of the reason for the high cost. Happy mushrooms don't create high amounts of these compounds. You have to stress them just enough to so that they cause a stress response by making erinacines, but not enough to kill them. The same goes for the fruiting bodies. Creating super healthy and large mushrooms actually makes LESS of the actives that we want. If your goal was to just grow the absolute most mycelial mass as fast as possible, the resulting mycelium wouldn't have anywhere near the erinacine content of ours. That's the problem, though. Most grow operations have dedicated all their time to improving yields. More mushroom/mycelium mass, more profit for the company. It just also means low amounts of the beneficial actives. This is actually a super complex process to get right. A lot of science went into this.
