Dipeptide analogs of piracetam, noopept, sulpiride,... exhibiting far superior potency and specificity to their putative mechanisms.

I think that the search for the holy grail, or rather the search for treatments, has yielded many of the medications that we have today. You've highlighted some of the treatments that turned out to be dangerous, but you're not including the treatments that are currently used as the standard treatments for illnesses in this picture. Many of those are an improvement on former medications or have come as a result of a search for a medicine that is better. Homeostasis does not appear to inhibit their clinical efficacy, nor are they impaired by a lack of understanding of the reward centre of the brain (?)

I am not saying the search for the holy grail is bad. Keep advancing science as much as we can! However, I don't think anyone here could argue we have actually found the holy grail for any of the common things like chronic pain, anxiety, depression, etc. In fact, most of the standard treatments are downright shitty for those things. What I would consider the holy grail to be, in relation to GB-115, would be something that rapidly eliminates anxiety, without any cognitive or motor side effects, with no tolerance or addiction properties. That's the holy grail in my mind. We are nowhere near that yet. Keep searching, yes. I am not saying give up because we have not found it yet. However, keep things in perspective. We have a LONG way to go on a lot of these things.
