There’s been a ton of substances that have promised the safe, no tolerance/dependence/addiction, potent anxiolysis effect profile. Until it’s being prescribed regularly for a couple years I don’t believe it.

Heroin was developed as a non-addictive alternative to morphine. Fentanyl was supposed to be a safer alternative to other clinical opioids. Etizolam was supposed to be a non-addictive alternative to benzos. People keep searching for the holy grail, but homeostasis and our lack of full understanding of the reward center of the brain keeps putting us in our place.
