Kanna- fantastic anxiolytic nootropic

Original post in this thread

Recently got some Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum) which is a south african plant with psychoactive properties. It apparently functions as an Serotonin release agent and an SRI

so far iv had great effects with the substance (300mg sublingual)

* Effects kick in after a few minutes

* Duration is seemingly much longer than tianeptine (8+ hours)

* There is no crash

* neuroprotective

* improves focus

* The anti-anxiety effect is stronger than tianeptine, compares to phenibut for me

* increases empathy, great for socialising

* Stimulating at first but then mellows out (great for relaxing sleep)

* The appetite suppressing effect is quite noticeable

i cant believe this stuff isnt more popular really. the feeling on it i would nearly describe as similar to low dose MDMA

*****EDIT****

Here is another review i found that was similar to my own experiences

You sure? I mean there's kava bars and shit but kanna seems pretty unheard of. Where does it rank health wise between things like kava, kratom, and cannabis?

Kava has hepatotoxic compounds in its leaves. So poorly made extracts can cause liver damage. That's probably what you read. Kava root itself is pretty safe. Just don't get the leaves mix in the extract.

There are no known safety issues with kanna that I know of. It's just not very well known.

Here is my folder of full studies on kanna \(Zembrin\).

Here is my folder of a couple kava studies. I'll see if I can upload some more when I have some time.

Picamilon vs Phenibut

Replying to simen · You could try cycling with kratom and kava. Kava has been shown in some studies to be as effective as benzos at combating anxiety, which is the gold standard, but it is potentially

Kratom has so much more than opioids in it. There are immunomodulators, vasodilators, NMDA antagonists, adrenergic agonists, etc. It's a very interesting plant.

I think I got my friend addicted to Phenibut

The GABA system is a dangerous one. Tolerance builds quickly, and withdrawal can be very bad; life threatening even. If you want something safer in the GABAnergic space, kava would be safer. I'd move to a different syst

Should I expect to "feel" something from a Nootropic?

For you and me, yes. However, I speak to a lot of people that get anxious and jittery on stimulants, but get calm and focused on GABAergics. Nothing is absolute when dealing with brain chemistry.
