Should I expect to "feel" something from a Nootropic?

I understand that in some cases the answer is yes. However, when I was introduced to Nootropics, like the racetams, I was told that its not going to be like getting a buzz...this was what drew me because I was not looking for a legal high or something childish like that. I was told that I would do research, starting with natural supps as a baseline, and then add racetams for a period of time at a regular dose and schedule. The effects would be subtle, defines over the course of a month or so, and would include increased cognition that may result in subtle mood change, perspective etc. I feel like Nootropics are more and more marketed for their immediate effects-Aniracetam for anxiety, Oxiracetam for stimulant and so on... Am I missing something?

Stimulants are much more so nootropic than depressants. Cannot stand 90% of posts being about phenibut, kava, kratom, etc...
how many studies show nootropic benefits of benzos or opiates? Compare that to amphetamines and DRIs.
So they are not even on the same level.
Hate to say it but the community here is degrading because of the influx of new users posting garbage.

For you and me, yes. However, I speak to a lot of people that get anxious and jittery on stimulants, but get calm and focused on GABAergics. Nothing is absolute when dealing with brain chemistry.
