The GABA system is a dangerous one. Tolerance builds quickly, and withdrawal can be very bad; life threatening even. If you want something safer in the GABAnergic space, kava would be safer.

I'd move to a different system, or mix some substances. Bacopa would be good for the serotonin system. Kratom would be good as a mild opiate, but then you have to watch tolerance and addiction there as well.

If he is set on taking a substance to feel better, then he needs to cycle them. I'd suggest bacopa, kava, and kratom. All are cheap, legal, and easy to get. But he should look into some counseling if he is turning to substances for relief.

Picamilon vs Phenibut

Replying to simen · You could try cycling with kratom and kava. Kava has been shown in some studies to be as effective as benzos at combating anxiety, which is the gold standard, but it is potentially

Kratom has so much more than opioids in it. There are immunomodulators, vasodilators, NMDA antagonists, adrenergic agonists, etc. It's a very interesting plant.

Should I expect to "feel" something from a Nootropic?

Replying to Ishmael_Vegeta · Stimulants are much more so nootropic than depressants. Cannot stand 90% of posts being about phenibut, kava, kratom, etc... how many studies show nootropic benefits of benzos or

For you and me, yes. However, I speak to a lot of people that get anxious and jittery on stimulants, but get calm and focused on GABAergics. Nothing is absolute when dealing with brain chemistry.

Kanna- fantastic anxiolytic nootropic

Replying to Guthix47 · You sure? I mean there's kava bars and shit but kanna seems pretty unheard of. Where does it rank health wise between things like kava, kratom, and cannabis?

Kava has hepatotoxic compounds in its leaves. So poorly made extracts can cause liver damage. That's probably what you read. Kava root itself is pretty safe. Just don't get the leaves mix in the extract. There are no kn
