Recently got some Kanna (Sceletium Tortuosum) which is a south african plant with psychoactive properties. It apparently functions as an Serotonin release agent and an SRI
so far iv had great effects with the substance (300mg sublingual)
* Effects kick in after a few minutes
* Duration is seemingly much longer than tianeptine (8+ hours)
* There is no crash
* neuroprotective
* improves focus
* The anti-anxiety effect is stronger than tianeptine, compares to phenibut for me
* increases empathy, great for socialising
* Stimulating at first but then mellows out (great for relaxing sleep)
* The appetite suppressing effect is quite noticeable
i cant believe this stuff isnt more popular really. the feeling on it i would nearly describe as similar to low dose MDMA
*****EDIT****
Here is another review i found that was similar to my own experiences

It's really delightful to see that you are embracing herbs (and even ethnobotanicals).
I would suggest that you also look into Nymphaea caerulea (Blue Lily) and Nelumbo nucifera (Sacred Lotus), both of which are very useful sleep aids. And how about Ilex guayusa (Guayusa) as an herbal stimulant?

I've actually been trialing those for the past year. However, I have not had much effect from either. They are very subtle. I was trialing them for stress/mood boosting, though. Perhaps I need to trial them as sleep aids. Do you have a vendor that you know has good quality that I can purchase some from? Perhaps the vendor I used was not a quality one.

Seems like it has a similar composition as cocoa extract/yerba mate, plus L-theanine. That's pretty cool. I've never tried it, though.
