is a tetrapeptide that corresponds to amino acid residues 147-150 of the polypeptide hormone ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF). CNTF is neuroprotective and promotes neurogenesis in the hippocampus, but clinical use revealed unpleasant side-effects like substantial weight and muscle loss. The CNTF fragment 147-150 (DGGL) enhances hippocampal neurogenesis and neuronal plasticity, and improves cognition in mice, without the weight loss seen with CNTF administration.

Why would they do DGGL by itself, when we already have P21, which is FAR superior to the standard DGGL sequence? And who puts peptides in a cosmetic jar?!? What are you going to do with it? It's fragile!
