Anyone else take L-theanine every day?

So, since discovering theanine a couple months ago, I've turned a couple friends onto it and use it a lot myself. Sometimes with caffeine, sometimes before bed, especially if I've been drinking, and sometimes just to chill. But that all adds up to me taking 200-400 mg about every day. I don't use any prescription drugs or many pills at all except for things like pepto-bismol and ibuprofen.
I know theanine is new and all, and there isn't too much research on the subject, so I'll settle for anecdotal evidence for now. Does anyone else take theanine every day, and have you discovered a tolerance or other side effects?
Thanks!

You could say the same for most drugs. It is new in it's isolated concentrated form. Plenty of people think that it could be dangerous in the high dose ranges because they have not been tested.

You can't really say that about most drugs, though. Not much has been used more than caffeine, L-theanine, and alcohol across human history. Also, it's not new in its concentrated form. It was discovered in 1949, and first synthesized in 1950. The patent for making enantiopure L-theanine was done in the 90s. It's been out for over two decades. It's an amino acid, and is perfectly safe.

Plenty of people think all sorts of crazy shit. Also, it's always the dose that makes the poison. Water is deadly in too high of amounts.
