Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know I left a negative review on a product on Nootropics Depot 1-2 months ago now and it hasn't been published. There have been reviews published since then as well. Just want to put this out there for anyone looking at products off the site because they all usually have 5 star ratings.
Also, this was not just a negative review because it didn't work for me but because the product became completely unusable in my 'climate' and there was no warning on the website or on the packaging.
Edit: I have answered most questions in the comments so make sure to read them for more information.

... but I deal with half a dozen lawsuits every year. I just settled one two days ago, in fact. I have two more I am dealing with right now. The bigger you get, the more of a target you are.
I know that the USA is an extremely litigious marketplace, but never appreciated exactly how bad it was.
Obviously if a lawsuit is legitimate and the person suffered a demonstrable injury that had a clear and tangible impact on their quality of life or ability to earn then that's fine ... but I'm guessing so many of these would be nuisance law-suits.
And at the same time, people need to take some responsibility for their actions... it's not like someone put a gun to their head and jammed a fistful of nootropics down their throats.
This must just be soul-sucking; seeing the sheer amount of time, money and effort wasted on having to deal with law suits, that could have otherwise been spent on developing new products, or marketing, growth, or simply distributed as salaries and dividends.
There has to be some smart way of providing some legal protection or separation of liabilities (beyond basic separation of IP entity, from the transactional entity).

I really was a naive idiot when I started this company. I thought that if you were just a good person, the system would work out for you. I actually had faith in humanity. However, as the years have gone by I have been forced to look at how things really are. The veil has been pulled back showing just how fucked up our legal system is, and just how many pieces of shit are out there. You can't just try to be the best person you can be and hope that it all works out. You have to be prepared to defend yourself from something new every single day. So that naive optimism has morphed more into a defensive skepticism. That's not to say I am not still optimistic in many senses. However, I temper that with a very real dose of reality.
As far as protections are concerned, there is no way to be 100% protected. The more you deal in the legal system here in the US, the more you realize just how much risk there is to your everyday actions. Even little shit you do every day could be increasing your risk for legal issue. Everyone is just mostly protected by security through obscurity. Nobody is really watching or looking at most people, so those risky actions never really manifest in anything bad. However, as people start to notice you, those little risks become big ones. You get a target on your back. It's not that those risks weren't there when you were smaller. They still were. However, nobody noticed you, so you were protected by that. Seriously, I have come out of meeting with our lawyers many times where my heart was in my stomach after hearing some of the things I was told by them. I've had some of the worst days of my life after legal meetings, and for shit you NEVER would have thought about ahead of time. It's like a minefield out there, and I have to be at the front of my team pushing us forward through that minefield. However, as one of my longtime employees always says when shit pops up: it could always be worse. If we don't focus on what is going right, then we can never get through the hurdles put in front of us.
