Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you know I left a negative review on a product on Nootropics Depot 1-2 months ago now and it hasn't been published. There have been reviews published since then as well. Just want to put this out there for anyone looking at products off the site because they all usually have 5 star ratings.
Also, this was not just a negative review because it didn't work for me but because the product became completely unusable in my 'climate' and there was no warning on the website or on the packaging.
Edit: I have answered most questions in the comments so make sure to read them for more information.

It sounds like you could help yourself out a lot by either making a blacklist of disease-related terms or having someone put together a classifier based on the discarded vs. approved reviews. If your legal team approved it with the right language, you could present a message to the user like "Your review may not refer to unintended use of the product to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a disease". Even if that's problematic, it could be a good first pass on the backend for the edits you do.

Yeah, a legal framework around what is and is not allowed is definitely being worked on. It's just not always clear at first. I wish the law was black and white. It would make it a lot easier. Even the shit we deal with varies based on the circuit it is in. The 3rd circuit interprets a law differently than the 1st or the 9th. If there are disparities in their rulings, it takes the US Supreme Court to decide to take up the case and rule on it to get the circuits in line with each other. Till they do that, what is allowed in California might not be in Pennsylvania or New York. My brain feels like it is about to explode sometimes after these legal meetings. The whole thing is just asinine.
