a peptide similar to cerebrolysin.
increases cognitive performance.
edit::~~check the wiki~~NEVERMIND ... ~~underconstruction~~
edit: There is no wiki for this P21. It's an N-acetylated peptide with the amino sequence DGGL, which is aspartate-glycine-glycine-leucine, with an adamantal-glycine moiety capping the C-terminus [to make it like a sturdy and last longer than otherwise, in laymen's]. It's a very potent activator of CNTF, which is ciliary neurotrophic factor.
MYASD:
I will say P21 was developed to be a potent activator of ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF). Blocking CNTF completely blocked the neurotrophic effects of Cerebrolysin. So it's postulated that CNTF is the main mechanism behind Cerebrolysin's neurogenetive effects. P21 was developed using epitope mapping, to find the most effective activator of CNTF. So while the sequence is not found in Cerebrolysin, it's a more potent activator of CNTF than the peptides that are in Cerebrolysin.
CNTF is believed to operate like leptin, but by a non-leptin pathway. Like BDNF, it is a neurotrophic factor, and may stimulate nerve cells to survive
