Should I expect to "feel" something from a Nootropic?

I understand that in some cases the answer is yes. However, when I was introduced to Nootropics, like the racetams, I was told that its not going to be like getting a buzz...this was what drew me because I was not looking for a legal high or something childish like that. I was told that I would do research, starting with natural supps as a baseline, and then add racetams for a period of time at a regular dose and schedule. The effects would be subtle, defines over the course of a month or so, and would include increased cognition that may result in subtle mood change, perspective etc. I feel like Nootropics are more and more marketed for their immediate effects-Aniracetam for anxiety, Oxiracetam for stimulant and so on... Am I missing something?

Not absolute but not every anecdote deserves equal consideration either.

Haha, I suppose that is true. I would concede that in general, stimulants have more cognitive enhancing qualities than depressants.
