Phosphatidylserine seems to be a popular ingredient in the emerging Nootropic industry. What is it supposed to do? Is it effective?

I have never noticed any cognitive benefit from the soy-based PS sources. They might still help the heart. However, I think we would need to get the bovine sources to notice any nootropic effect. So I would feel comfortable saying that the soy-based PS is all marketing hype, from a memory perspective, at this point.
