Phosphatidylserine seems to be a popular ingredient in the emerging Nootropic industry. What is it supposed to do? Is it effective?

So far all the plant-based sources do not seem to have the fatty acid profile needed to give the cognitive effects. I cannot recommend any current sources, unfortunately.
