Modafinil Dosing

I started on Modafinil on Wed for chronic fatigue / lack of motivation / general sleepiness due to an unknown cause. My doctor didn't know the medication really at all so prescribed 200mg daily. The pharmacist didn't seem to know much about it either. I have taken it for three days and while I am more awake the effects have been very subtle. Certainly no waves of energy, focus or productivity. I noticed on here that some people take 50 mg or 100 mg. I am planning to experiment with dosages a bit but I am interested if any information related to dosages. Is it possible it would be just as effective or more effective at a lower dose? Does that fact I have had minimal response likely mean that is all I will get regardless of dose?

Modafinil isn't cutting it for me anymore... I slept 16 hours yesterday, and only got up because lying down that much hurts my back. Still exhausted...

Oh, ok. Well if you need to move to something more powerful, do it. I thought you were moving due to modafinil shortages at your pharmacy.

Good to know. I get histamine responses from being out in the cold, or just sitting doing nothing. So me having a histamine response is not indicative of the general population.
