Hydrafinil - New Modafinil Analogue

Original post in this thread

Smb158 · 57 points

Ceretropic just started carrying Hydrafinil so I figured it was time for a thread discussing it. I've been excited for this since /u/misteryouaresodumb hinted about it months ago. Here's the link to buy it http://www.ceretropic.com/buy-hydrafinil/

Edit: Posted in /r/nootropics rather than /r/afinil since this is a new compound. If the mods disagree feel free to remove this thread!

As shown in Table 1, subsequent screening in wake promoting assay in rats, compound 3 (100 mg/kg ip) was found to be active. Thus, it is likely that the wake promoting activity of compound 15 in rats might have arisen from the activity of compound 3. On the other hand, such metabolism might be minimal in dogs. It should be noted that compound 3 maintains some DAT binding activity, though less active than modafinil, raising the possibility of involvement of this transporter in its wake promoting activity in rats. However, no additional study was carried out with compound 3, as a more efficacious molecule (compound 2, Fig. 1), active both in rat and dog wake promotion assays, had already been identified.

Is that the "some trials" you refer to? From what I see Cephalon is not considering it as a Modafinil successor...
If not I'd love to see these trials you refer to.

I should have said was considering it. They've moved to a new analog that is more efficacious. We should be getting that one in too, once we work out the synthesis issues. This is just the first one we were able to get synthesized.

Anything is dangerous in too high of amounts. 100mg is not a smart dose, just like a gram of modafinil is not a smart dose. The same goes for caffeine and even water. That does not mean it is inherently dangerous. That j

Replying to judasblue · Well, I am not sure that this study is the end all on this mood thing. There are other studies showing that moda helps with at least some elements of depression. http://www.ncbi.

Well modafinil increases extracellular dopamine in the same way methylphenidate does, by inhibiting the DAT. So there will be some mood elevation because of that. It will mask some of the symptoms, but not really lead to
