Modafinil Dosing

I started on Modafinil on Wed for chronic fatigue / lack of motivation / general sleepiness due to an unknown cause. My doctor didn't know the medication really at all so prescribed 200mg daily. The pharmacist didn't seem to know much about it either. I have taken it for three days and while I am more awake the effects have been very subtle. Certainly no waves of energy, focus or productivity. I noticed on here that some people take 50 mg or 100 mg. I am planning to experiment with dosages a bit but I am interested if any information related to dosages. Is it possible it would be just as effective or more effective at a lower dose? Does that fact I have had minimal response likely mean that is all I will get regardless of dose?

I have been taking modafinil for about 8 months, as prescribed by my doctor for ... I don't know what I have. Latest theory is an "inflammatory autoimmune disease causing chronic debilitating fatigue"? I started at 100mg per day, quickly elevated that to 200mg per day. About 4 months ago, I was bumped to 300mg a day (two in morning, one in afternoon). I'm still pretty tired, but I really notice when I miss a dose. My doctor said 300 was probably the most we'd want to do. It's not supposed to be habit forming or anything, so I'm not sure why I need more... It's likely that my condition is worsening. I think modafinil is the only reason I was able to finish my degree last year. It really changed my life.
Apparently, my doctor prescribes a lot of it to people which similar cases, so all the pharmacies in town know of it. Unfortunately, both generic and Alertec are on long term backorder, and have been for a while now. I'll need to switch to adderall... Very nervous :/

Don't switch to amphetamine. That's overkill. Order modafinil online. There is no reason to jump up to a real stimulant unless you need to!
