The time has finally come to launch our nootropics site! For those of you that don’t know, a fellow Redditor, /u/guacamolium, approached me a while back. He was interested in starting a nootropics vendor, and thought partnering with me would be a good fit. We pretty much always agreed with each other when speaking on this forum, and had similar visions for what we wanted in a vendor. So after many long discussions, we decided to go into business together. After much preparation, and many unforeseen bumps, we are ready to launch!
Our initial goal is going to be filling a part of the market that does not exist yet: nootropics in sublingual dropper vials. Many people always ask if they need a scale to be accurate, or how to conveniently and quickly capsule nootropics with accuracy. As many of you know, there really is no way to do that without a scale and time. For a lot of you, that’s not something high on the list of things you want to do. Enter sublingual dropper vials.
Over the years, I’ve taken a few supplements in dropper vials; and loved how easy it was to dose and be done with it. The main one I’ve always used was sublingual B vitamins. The ability to just wake up, grab th…

Thank you so much for starting an innovative company like this! I have always enjoyed /u/MisterYouAreSoDumb analysis and comments on this subreddit. If there is one person that should be running a quality nootropic company it would be you!
Now for some questions I have, I could be wrong but isn't the most effective dosing ratio for L-Theanine and Caffeine a 2:1 ratio? Why the 1:1 ratio?
Also are there any compounds you are interested in funding or crowd-funding studies for?

The studies that many people refer to for quoting the 2:1 did not aim to assess the proper ratio. They merely assessed whether caffeine was better alone, or with L-theanine administered concurrently. Many do seem to take the 2:1 ratio as their starting point. However, I have seen no evidence that ratio is the most effective.

In fact, the anxiogenic response to caffeine is genetically associated with the ADORA2A rs5751876 SNP. So some people will have no anxiogenic response to caffeine, like me, and other will have higher anxiety while on it. This means that one product cannot be ideal for everyone.

So our decision to go with 1:1 was due to much trial and error, and lots of anecdotes. Those that respond well to higher doses of L-theanine will still do well with the 1:1 mixture. However, those that don't need as much L-theanine would get tired off a 2:1 ratio. Again, if there is enough demand, we can offer a 2:1. I just don't see much evidence that is the most effective dose.
