The story behind the FDA raid of Nootropics Depot

...continued... Now a little backstory here... we did sell tianeptine years prior. I explained it in the podcast, but I will reiterate some here. I went through a bad depression when I was younger, and almost took my life on a number of occasions. Coming out of that depression is…

Replying to slipperybuddha · >I've taken more things than 99.9% of any human On the subject ... could you provide a rough top 10 candidates for "the most mood promoting things" you've ever taken?
I'll just stick to legal things for this conversation. I find our Tongkat 10% to really keep my mood up. No doubt the testosterone is the reason for that. Polygala is another that is mood boosting for me. /u/Pretty-Chill also really loves polygala. I take our saffron every day fo…
Cognance - no effect
Replying to KodiakDog · Could stacking cognace and the ND bacopa have any “entourage effect”? I’ve just noticed that sometimes I get significantly more potent effects from plant medicine if I use the plan…
Yes, I have been saying that a lot with Cognance. It's nice on its own, but it really shine in combos. Dopaminergic combos are the especially nice ones, but adding in some NE and GABA really rounds it out. We are going to make some really cool stacks with it!
Nootopia's "Omnipept"
Replying to Nocasual · Why is him using kratom in one of his stacks something that you mentioned? Do you have a strong opinion on it? I definetly know that it has the potential to be abused and people ca…
I am fine with kratom. I am not fine with people using kratom in natural supplement stacks and selling those to people while telling them it will cure their diseases. Kratom is a really interesting plant, and we are actually working with Waters and CAMAG to develop analytical met…
Nootopia's "Omnipept"
Empirical consensus? You mean their constant advertising and shilling?!? They only popped up as a brand last year, and have been heavily advertising things. If anyone here is even remotely considering buying a product that doesn't tell you what the actual ingredients are, my mess…
Please be cautious on orders from Botany.bio - mistakenly labeled (and therefore adulterated unknown substance) from product found in my last order.
Replying to thaw4188 · Yeah I get that, the whole industry is a nightmare. Some of the things ConsumerLabs has found are hair-raising. The thing is, *-right now-* their in-house lab seems on top of thin…
As long as I own Nootropics Depot, you don't have to worry about that. I'll go out of business before I'll compromise my ethics and cut corners on testing. Just ask any of my employees. Sometimes we just go out of stock for a year till we can solve a problem. Our lab also isn't n…

Inhibiting CYP3A4 and CYP2D6 will both increase MDMA serum levels. This is why you have to be careful, as it might make the effects too strong. Inhibiting the metabolism is good to prevent the toxic metabolites. You just need to keep your doses reasonable. Regular ALA sucks. Na-R…
DRIED PARSLEY = superior to any Apigenin supplement. Rebut me if you can.
Replying to KodiakDog · Could you elaborate on the Kratom project with waters? What exactly is it that y’all are looking to accomplish with this machine?
The state of lab testing in the kratom industry is bad. We are looking to change that with the help of Waters, and now CAMAG as well. So we will be creating ID and assay methods with concurrent application notes that other labs can use with Waters and CAMAG machines. We already d…
DRIED PARSLEY = superior to any Apigenin supplement. Rebut me if you can.
Replying to AnabolicGreyhound · Of course, plant compounds are derived from whole foods and in many cases taking a supplement is more efficacious than consuming masses of a specific plant, I never suggested other…
No, I get what you are saying. Sometimes it's more complex than X% of something works the same in any formulation or form. Certainly the entourage effect comes into play, which is why we offer lower standardizations of things. Take horny goat weed for example. I like our 10% more…

Does anyone have any experience with this brand? The price seems too good to be real shilajit.

Gold grade is meaningless marketing fluff. It doesn't mean anything. We sell Primavie, which was developed by the most cited shilajit researcher in the world: Shibnath Ghosal. He has whole books on shilajit. It's put through a patented process to remove the heavy metals, as raw s…
Kratom boasts antipsychotic activity through 5-HT2A antagonism & D2 inhibition

I am glad our efforts are appreciated, because it is not easy. I just had our yearly lab recap meeting, which is part of maintaining our ISO certification, so I looked at the data for the last year. We spent $60,000 just on reference standards last year. We tested 1,113 samples i…
What's the reasoning for Agmatine to have a serving dose of 250mg?
Replying to Beginning-Wind-371 · What's the difference between taking agmatine and normal dose kratom to reduce tolerance versus taking a lower dose of kratom?
Agmatine will reduce calcium transmission through the NMDA receptors, which helps to slow/reverse tolerance. Obviously lowering the dose of kratom would help that go faster. Taking agmatine with a regular kratom dose mostly keeps tolerance from building more, whereas agmatine and…
What's the reasoning for Agmatine to have a serving dose of 250mg?
Replying to phenlord100 · I saw an old post stating that agmatine makes your brain less malleable since it’s an nmda antagonist. I’ve always wondered if this means that using agmatine during a tolerance bre…
The malleable explanation is an oversimplification. People say it makes you less malleable because blocking NMDA reduced glutamatergic currents. Lower glutamate action results in lower LTP. However, over-activation of NMDA is also what causes tolerance. This is why blocking it ca…

I have used higher doses. It just amplifies the side effects for me. This would be making sleep worse, reducing motivation during the day, and sapping energy. It can bind to the a2A-adrenergic receptors in higher doses. Everyone is different, but finding the right dose for daily…

It really upsets me, because it turns average everyday people off to things that can work. They read these stories saying our stuff is crap from people that are literally abusing much stronger GABAergics and other compounds, or have a history of benzo abuse and have a totally mes…

I don't want to seem like a huge ass, but just click on the post histories of everyone saying they don't feel it. It will become clear as to why. People taking/ coming off benzos, baclofen, gabapentin, and high dose kratom/THC are not exactly indicative of the average person. I k…
