Would you expect this product to cause depressive symptoms in people who experience depression from other serotonin modulators such as 5-HTP, tyrptophan, apigenin, and ashwaghanda? I already decided to try it anyway, but wonder if this is something to be on the lookout for.

That's a tough one to sat for sure. My theory is that the depressive symptoms some people get from serotonergic things like that is a result of a drop in dopamine, due to a saturation of the aromatic L-amino acid decarboxylase enzyme by 5-HTP. Normal bacopa up-regulate tryptophan hydroxylase (TPH), which will create more 5-HTP. That's I think why some people can get demotivated with bacopa. The two bacosides that are responsible for that are bacoside A and A3.

Well our patented process for Cognance gets rid of all the bacoside A and A3, and forces the conversion down to ebelin lactone. This means that if my theory is right, and the demotivation/depressive symptoms are from up-regulated TPH, Cognance will not have that side effect. I really would love to hear how you respond!
