Some people like the calming/sedating effects that a regular bacopa gives. Many people take it in the evening before bed. Cognance would not be a replacement for that.

5-HT2A and 5-HT2B are different receptors, so no issue there. Also, the heart issues are for full agonists of the 5-HT2B receptor. Ebelin lactone is a positive allosteric modulator of the 5-HT2A receptor.

Cognance is better for the morning/mid day, as it is slightly stimulating. I wouldn't take it before bed. However, my sleep has been very good on it when I space the dosing out from the evening.
