Lab Testing Results: Dried Parsley

Lab

So about a month ago there was a discussion about dried parsley and how it was a superior apigenin supplement.

https://www.reddit.com/r/NootropicsDepot/comments/uxkcig/dried\_parsley\_superior\_to\_any\_apigenin\_supplement/

You can see that some studies were linked talking about how much apigenin was in dried parsley. Some of the higher numbers seemed unlikely to me, but I figure the only way to really know would be to test it ourselves in the lab. My lab director went to Fry's Food And Drug here in town, and we purchased Kroger brand dried parsley. The hunt for apigenin was on!

I want to preface this by saying I am making no qualitative claims to the efficacy of Kroger's dried parsley flakes. I know some people may have had good results from consuming an entire can of these flakes, and I don't want to discount their experiences. Neither Fry's Food nor the Kroger corporation participated in this research. I've had these results for a few weeks, but I have held off on releasing them till now. I fear what the Kroger corporation might do to me, or what agents from big parsley have in store. However, this data has to get out to consumers!

Here are the UPLC results: https://imgur.com/a/cyqThtu

As you can see, we submitted the sample to the lab assuming that there was 4.5% apigenin in the flakes. However, we only found 0.001% apigenin! In fact, there was much more hesperidin and baicalin in the sample than apigenin. We did not do the calculations for concentration for the other flavones in the sample, because my lab techs said: "We have a lot of other shit we need to get done! Can we be done with this stupid parsley shit?!?"

Here is our workbook calculation of apigenin: https://imgur.com/a/CqztPKY

So there you have it. This goes even deeper than anyone imagined! If you can't trust dried parsley in a can, what can you trust these days?

DRIED PARSLEY = superior to any Apigenin supplement. Rebut me if you can.

Replying to AnabolicGreyhound · For context, dried parsley contains 45mg Apigenin per gram and has superior bioavailability. I do love ND products but question the efficacy of taking supplementary Apigenin. Wo

LOL, start shoving grams of parsley in your mouth then. You could say this about any plant extract. "Why don't I just shove lots of the regular plant in my mouth?!?" Sure, go ahead! I am sure Chef's Larder standardizes t

Apigenin cleared amyloid plaque in a mouse study

Replying to Careful-Cobbler-8359 · Why care about amyloid plaques following the recent retraction/controversy in AD research?

Amyloid plaques are still correlated with disease progression. It's just not the smoking gun cause it was made out to be. People with Alzheimer's clearly have amyloid plaques building up. That's not at question. Whether

Let's all hold a moment of silence for the stock of Apigenin

People went nuts over it. It sold way faster than anticipated. Our resupply has also been stuck in customs, which screws the ability to plan things. It finally just cleared, though. So we are rushing it. We have some of

Morning is best. It's already super stimulating. The small amount of apigenin in there just smooths it out.
