Nicotinamide Mononucleotide Tablets | 125mg | Enteric Coated VS. Nicotinamide Mononucleotide Capsules | 250mg

I wanted to know if the lower dose enteric coated equates/is similar to 250mg in powdered capsule form because of better bioavailability and absorption. Any help in this regard would be great! Thanks.

I've tried sublingual NMN in the past and found it surprisingly effective vs. just taking it orally, but I don't understand why. I was leaving 300mg under my tongue for 30min before swallowing. In theory that should be way too much to absorb sublingually in one sitting in general before even considering LogP, but still, it kicked in much faster. I take several other things sublingually and I'm not convinced it's all just placebo, otherwise I'd probably get similar "effects" from those too.

That said, the enteric coated tablets are way more dose-efficient, they just take much longer to absorb. NMN is just too expensive to not consider efficiency to be king, so I can't be bothered to experiment with sublingual NMN more.

It may well be that the NMN powder already degraded to nicotinamide/NR/etc. and that's what was getting absorbed (not that I have looked up the LogP of those) - this was years before you came out with your stable NMN powder. Or maybe there's an unknown salivary protein that binds NMN in a similar vein to transcobalamin I binding B12.

It is an interesting situation, that's for sure. The chemical properties all point to it not absorbing sublingually, but I am not going to pretend we have completed settled the pharmacokinetic possibilities with NMN. Till recently, we didn't even know about the Slc12a8 transporters selectively uptaking NMN, so there absolutely could be something else we have not yet discovered. I'll have to do some testing on it.

When will NMN be back in stock?

They will be back up by the end of the week. It's been a hell of a time getting these back in stock. In case you are not aware, the company that used to do the enteric coatings for us went out of business because of COVI

Yes, many people do that. The enteric really makes a difference with NMN. In our OptiNAD+ we use acid resistant capsules, but they don't last nearly as long as our enteric tablets do in stomach acid. We are still trying

Yes, the powder will be less effective. However, some people have issues with the enteric coating, and others have too strong of effects and want to dose lower. We are giving people more choice. The enteric coated tablet
