It has come to my attention that recently user posts are deleted for nootropic vendor recommendation. It is a reasonable policy when vendors are using astroturfing or spamming however I've been asked dozens of times in comments and in private about the vendor or brand of the product I reviewed. It is unacceptable and very damaging to this community that it is allowed to mention nootropicsdepot, newmind and science.bio as well as big brands like now, swanson and jarrows while it is prohibited to recommend pglchem. And while I neither can assure the quality of his products nor I recommend the use of his shop, he is synthesizing some interesting compounds . One such compound is of particular importance to me, given my personal experience with certain nootropic derivatives of it like ones sold by newmind. I've been posting for years what I hope is valuable content including some rare scientific sources like this one stating that pemoline is more anti amnesic than stimulants in the screenshot, or even prl-8-53 which is touted by this sub as the ultimate memory enhancer. Also moderators should state sort of conflict of interests in…

I am still here, helping the people I can, responding to everyone that I possibly can, trying to keep this community and industry moving in a positive direction. I don't think people truly realize how rare that is.
Yes. They haven't been there. I would assume most of the /r/Nootropics community is young. With experience, It's hard not to become jaded and lose focus on an online community. When people are caught up in this and it's all fresh and new, they don't know what it will be like in 5 years; will they really be coming back to the same community, over and over again? Young people have a lot of trouble thinking about that, when 5 years is the difference between being 15 and being 20.

The people currently interacting on /r/Nootropics are definitely a lot newer than in the past. There has been a lot of subscriber growth the past 5 years, and with that comes a lot of newbies. The older more experienced people can get a bit annoyed with the types of questions and discussions that people new to the community start, so they post less and less. This causes a feedback loop that results in a shift to the overall pattern of the posts in the community. Furthermore, Reddit as a whole has changed a lot the past few years. They have made a lot more rules, and put a lot more onus onto us moderators to ensure none of those rules are broken. If we don't adequately moderate to ensure these new rules are upheld, they can actually shut the subreddit down. They were even using some new tools to try and determine if subreddits were promoting risky or illegal behavior. Some Redditors were getting polls when they came to /r/NootropicsDepot asking about risky or illegal behavior. I assume that was to assess whether or not they needed to take a deeper look into the content of the sub. So because of all these new rules, statements sent to us by the Reddit admins, and these concerning polls that were popping up, we were forced to become a bit more strict with the content allowed. It's also not 100% clear what they are looking for sometimes, so we are left slightly in the dark about what Reddit is and is not cool with. That's very different from when you and I first got here. It was the wild west back then. Reddit didn't care what was posted. They absolutely do these days.
