I thought microzinc, micromag and longvida already used liposomes?

They are a form of liposome, but more complex. They are sucrose esters of fatty acids, which really does alter the pharmacokinetics. So while the concept is the same, they are more like Longvida. The specifics of the lipid layer surrounding them are much more intelligently formulated and controlled. They are also not trying to take poorly water-soluble things and make them more bioavailable. Since the sucrosomes are surrounding metals, they are trying to bypass the ion transport system and have them absorb through a completely different strategy. So like all squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares, sucrosomes are a form of liposome. However, they are effectively and functionally distinct.

Most of the "liposomes" on the market right now are literally just powders mixed with soy lecithin in a mixer and called a liposome. However, there is no lab data showing that proper lipid spheres were formed. There is no data showing the size of the spheres or the average amount of actives enveloped by said lipids. There is no batch-wide data showing that the average particle size is in the 100-200 micron range to even be considered liposomal. They really are just a bunch of shit mixed with soy lecithin in large mixers and called liposomes without any real QC lab data proving that. That's my big problem with it. That, and the fact that they are selling "liposomal" formulations of things that don't need it, purely from a marketing standpoint. There are definitely things that could have their pharmacokinetics improved by being enveloped in a lipid bilayer. However, there are many things that won't. I think it cheapens a technology when it is improperly applied without the necessary lab data and clinical data to show it is useful for that specific product.

petition for ND to change the filler 'maltodextrin' to something else

We almost never use maltodextrin in our formulations. We purposely avoid it, not because of compelling science, but because it is just easier to agree and move on than fight that fight. However, what most consumers don't
