Moderators please clarify the rules on nootropic vendor recommendations

Original post in this thread

It has come to my attention that recently user posts are deleted for nootropic vendor recommendation. It is a reasonable policy when vendors are using astroturfing or spamming however I've been asked dozens of times in comments and in private about the vendor or brand of the product I reviewed. It is unacceptable and very damaging to this community that it is allowed to mention nootropicsdepot, newmind and science.bio as well as big brands like now, swanson and jarrows while it is prohibited to recommend pglchem. And while I neither can assure the quality of his products nor I recommend the use of his shop, he is synthesizing some interesting compounds . One such compound is of particular importance to me, given my personal experience with certain nootropic derivatives of it like ones sold by newmind. I've been posting for years what I hope is valuable content including some rare scientific sources like this one stating that pemoline is more anti amnesic than stimulants in the screenshot, or even prl-8-53 which is touted by this sub as the ultimate memory enhancer. Also moderators should state sort of conflict of interests in…

Are you saying that you have never asked Majalisk to review your products, or give favorable reviews, never paid them or gave them free samples or discounts or any other benefit?

I am extremely skeptical of the argument that they are just your friend and so they are favorable, especially with Nootropics Depot's poor reputation for dodgy business practices and lack of transparency.

That's correct. I have never compensated /u/Majalisk in any way. We don't give him free product. We don't ask him to make favorable reviews. We don't even ask him to change his moderation style, even though sometimes it might be easier if I did have him do things a bit differently. However, I promised everyone I would avoid conflicts of interest when I started Ceretropic back in 2013, so that is what I have done ever since. If I were to dictate how he moderated, that would break my promise. I don't do that.

And what do you mean reputation for dodgy business practices and lack of transparency? Our reputation is better than anyone in the industry, and I am more open and honest with people than literally any other owner in the space. Find me another business owner that is accessible and open to conversations as I am. To be perfectly honest, I could disappear and live on a private island if I wanted to. I got into Bitcoin in 2010 when it was 81 cents. I could just disappear and never work again. I really don't need any of this. I am here because I care about this community and I care about improving this industry. I am one of the reasons the nootropics industry has improved in the way it has. I have been here for almost a decade trying to make nootropics better and safer for all of you here. When I got into nootropics, people were just ingesting untested shit from China packaged in Mylar bags in people's living rooms. Multiple people went to the hospital because of fake or impure nootropics. It was the wild west. I set out to change that, and improve the quality control and analytical standards of the industry. That's what I have been doing every day since then, and I am damn proud of the work I have done. This community and this industry looks NOTHING like when I started, and that is in part because of the effort I put in to change it. This is all public stuff. You can go back through my history for years and see it all. Go back through posts here on /r/Nootropics and see all the stuff I have done to make nootropics better and safer for everyone here. Me and my companies have been trying to fight the good fight for everyone here for longer than most have even known nootropics existed. I have personally helped thousands of people figure out their health issues over the years. Some of these people have become genuine friends of mine, and we have the following we do because I really do try to help anyone I can. Don't listen to the BS spread around by competitors and people looking to manipulate you. I have pissed a lot of people off over the years by calling out shitty nootropics/supplement companies doing dodgy things and putting people's health at risk. Those people love to try and stoke the flames here, and spread the idea that we can't be trusted. That's just lies, though. Write me anytime you want. I will respond and answer you. Form your own opinion of me and my companies by actually speaking to me.
