Can Berberine Cause Hypoglycemia?

I usually only take berberine before a carb-containing meal, however, today I took some upon waking and then ate a steak.
The whole morning I felt like I could fall asleep at any second. Brain fog. Weak muscles. Absolutely CRAVING food and sugar. Seemed like hypoglycemia.
Can this happen to someone like me who is NOT diabetic, in shape, eats clean, sleeps well?

Berberine is typically euglycemic, not known to cause hypoglycemic excursions. Not consistent with its mechanism. It's not insulin.
That said, I suppose if someone is constitutionally predisposed, berberine might make them in a range where they are more prone to a hypoglycemic excursus.

Definitely. It usually just normalizes glucose levels if you are too high. However, since that is a known mechanism, it is theoretically possible for it to have too strong of an effect in certain people.
