Lion's Mane clinical trials

Original post in this thread

Hi there. Are there any concrete clinical trials that prove the efficacy of Lion's Mane in improving cognition or memory? Reason I ask is I've been taking 1gram of Host Defense Lion's Mane going on three months to hopefully repair damage done through binge drinking. I've found a few links online but I'm told there is not enough research to support claims that it can enhance memory or increase NGF. Is anyone taking Lion's Mane and what motivated you to invest in this supplement? What convinced you that it works? Thanks.

Were you looking into other fermented products around the time the ginseng product was being developed? I just thought I remembered you saying something about it in a thread. The fermented ginseng study that I read around the time you released gs-14 was so impressive to me that I immediately was drawn to thinking about other fermented food/supplements. There's a good study on fermenting pomegranates that really furthered my knowledge of fermentation and got me even more interested. The whole pomegranate study is available for free if I remember correctly.

Edit: I didn't realize that gs15-4 was fermented using enzymes. I'm not really super knowledgeable about how commercial fermentation usually works, I just assumed you used bacteria in a controlled environment. It makes total sense why you wouldn't do it that way though. Is there anywhere that I can see the process for fermenting the ginseng? I was looking for patent info or something like that, and I couldn't find it. I'm also not sure if that is public information either.

Unfortunately the fermentation process for GS15-4 is patented, and not publicly available.

Where did you see the pomegranate one?

Paul Stamets on the complexity of assessing Cordyceps supplements. Seems like one should avoid ND’s cordyceps supplements until they stop using fruiting bodies in favor of mycelium. Discuss

Replying to ebowden · Have there been studies directly comparing the chemical composition of extracts of the mycelium and fruiting bodies, and comparing the in vivo effects of these extracts?

Chemical composition studies, yes. No in vivo human studies of lion's mane mycelium, though. Also, no animal studies that compare fruiting body to mycelium in the same study. Also, no studies on mycelium on grain. This i

Amycenone in Lionsmane(8:1)

Amycenone is a made up trademarked name. It doesn't actually mean anything. Only the people that trademarked the name can use it, just like only we can use PanaMAX. It would be silly for me to ask if our competitor's *Pa

Lions mane 8:1 extract on amazon has an F on fakespot. Why?

Replying to Fakespot · We can see why this thread would gain a lot of attention due to the F grade for an ND product. Before I dive into the grading, let's talk about the grade itself and what it means.

Hey, Fakespot! Didn't expect that. I am going to forewarn you, this will be a long one. I am going to go into a lot of detail, and I am going to pepper sarcasm and criticism in along the way. Just be prepared (peppered?)
