Lion's Mane clinical trials

Original post in this thread

Hi there. Are there any concrete clinical trials that prove the efficacy of Lion's Mane in improving cognition or memory? Reason I ask is I've been taking 1gram of Host Defense Lion's Mane going on three months to hopefully repair damage done through binge drinking. I've found a few links online but I'm told there is not enough research to support claims that it can enhance memory or increase NGF. Is anyone taking Lion's Mane and what motivated you to invest in this supplement? What convinced you that it works? Thanks.

Thank you. Is the Japanese study you mention the only clinical trial with positive results? Do you know where I might find honest reviews of the good stuff?

That's the main study that used in vivo with humans. Most of the other studies are rats, or in vitro studies using human cells.

Honest reviews are hard to come by these days. The vast majority of shit out there is compensated or fake. I'd say 50-70% of Amazon reviews are compensated in some way, or completely fake. It's really bad right now. I've been approached multiple times by companies offering to give us thousands of Amazon reviews for a price. You best bet is forums like here on Reddit or Longecity, where you can look at the profiles of the people making them, and assess whether or not they are real people reviewing legitimately. In all reality, tying things for yourself is going to be the best way to assess how well something works. Lion's Mane takes a few weeks to really show effects as well. So if you do try it out, give it at least 3-4 weeks before assessing how you react.

This is part of the wholesale price list for "Nammex", the supplier of mushroom powders that many companies repackage/encapsulate and sell for a huge profit margin

Replying to eclecticlove1 · So where do you get the powder for the 8:1 dual phase extract?

We have our own suppliers, just like we do for all our ND branded products. They make it to our specifications. Then we test them in our lab for ID, content, beta-glucans, heavy metals, and now residual solvent residues.

Why the lion's mane you're buying is probably bunk.

First off, our Lion's Mane is not a traditional water extract. The water is used to break down the chitin in the cell walls, but the entire mushroom material is kept in. So you don't lose anything that you would with a f

Is ND done launching new products?

We are absolutely NOT done with new products. We are in the thick of development for a bunch of them. Some of them are just taking longer than expected to get perfect, so we have had a lull in releases. That's just becau
