Are there any effects of MAOI on Kratom alkaloids?

Dear DrugNerds,
as I read about potential ways to enhance the effects of Kratom and its respective alkaloids, I stumbled upon various mentions of MAOIs (especially the very weak ones found in Grapefruit Juice (Naringenin and Bergamottin)) as possible substances.
Is there any scientific guess wether this could work? Since Mytragnin is indol-based, I don't see a way how a MAOI could affect its metabolism anyhow.
Thanks!

Yes, I have read through that study before as well. It does not prove that CYP3A4 is not involved in the metabolism.

That study showed that mitragynine first undergoes hydrolysis by CYP2D6. This would create 7-Hydroxymitragynine. Then it would undergo O-demethylation. This fits with the reports that CYP2D6 induction, and CYP3A4 inhibition increase potency.
I use this method all the time, and it works! Eat some black peppercorns, and drink some white grapefruit juice before your kratom, and you will notice a difference. Perhaps you are not getting white grapefruit juice, but rather pink. That contains less bergamottin than the white variety.
