Yeah for sure, id just argue that the interest is not proportional to its potential. Ohh, thats interesting. Are you guys doing plasma testing or is it ADMET, or something else that you guys are using? I know you have some funky machines over there.

We are doing simulated gastric fluid, then simulated intestinal fluid, on our Distek machine. Then we inject right into our Waters UPLC-MS machines. At some point we want to do in vivo pharmacokinetic testing of blood, but the variables there are harder to control. That's good for final confirmation in the real world, but not flexible enough for product/process optimization. Also, you will have more measurement variability that way, because every human body is slightly different, and the matrix will be more complex in human blood plasma. Simulating the GI tract in the Distek allows us to control all the variables super tightly, then get a clean matrix that we can get a full mass spec run on. This is nice because we are not just looking at sulforaphane. We are looking at sulforaphane nitrile, benzyl cyanide and benzocyanide (which nobody is even talking about!), and other isothiocyanates that can be formed like allyl isothiocyanate, phenethylisothiocyanate, and erucin. I was the guinea pig, and literally poisoned myself in the process! I will tell the whole story when we release it, but I actually curled up in pain on the floor of our office during our testing, because you can create both allyl isothiocyanate, which is a stomach irritant, and benzyl cyanide. You have to control the precursors and conversion conditions closely, or you can make these compounds that are damaging to your system. It took me beta testing and fucking my own stomach up for us to discover this mechanism, and nobody out there is talking about that!
