I've switched to the new berberine as well. We are going to be reformulating our berberine/silymarin tablets soon with a new milk thistle extract we developed
Just curious, was was 'wrong' with the old ones? I personally use your berberine sparingly but never had any 'weird' effect.

Nothing was "wrong." However, we discovered that one of the common things in milk thistle, silychristin, inhibits the thyroid hormone transporter MCT8. It was actually another Redditor that linked me the studies on it. After doing some more research and testing in the lab, we started working on a special extract that ensures no/very low silychristin. Since many people who are using milk thistle are bodybuilders and other people exercising, we figured they would appreciate a milk thistle that avoided silychristin. It's not a commonly known mechanism, either; so we hope to shine light on it and provide an extract without that interaction.
