Questions about Quercetin bioavailability

Original post in this thread

BoozeAndHotpants · 10 points

I have read many conflicting studies on the relative bioavailability of Quercetin. I know there are manufacturers that use lecithin to create “phytosome” versions to increase absorption and utilization, but I also know that sometimes just taking a greater amount of a lesser bioavailable form is often the most economical option. Do you guys at ND (or anyone else) have any guidance or knowledge on this?

Here is an example for illustration purposes only; not speaking about the quality of the study at all, just to show the type of study that makes it confusing to pick a quality quercetin supplement:
https://www.nutraingredients-usa.com/Article/2018/10/30/Overcoming-the-low-bioavailability-hurdle-of-quercetin-Indena-study-supports-phytosome-use-to-boost-absorption

“Despite the potential benefits, bioavailability of quercetin is low with estimations that only 20% of the administered dose reaches the blood.
This is where Indena’s use of a delivery system based on food-grade lecithin offers a solution: According to data published in European Journal of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics the Quercetin Phytosome (Quercefit) proved to be up to 20-fold more bioavailable.”

I have and it works much in the same way for me.
Still figureing out how many ampk-activators I can take at once, though.
If I just throw all of them in my stack at once, I get that nervousness effect again - there seems to be a sweet spot.

For sure. Too much AMPK gets really edgy. It's a balance. I've hit the edgy feeling multiple times. I find Longvida, and to a lesser extent Curowhite, really kicks it up if you take it daily with a bunch of flavones. I think it might be the slight MAOI properties. I either need to drop a few AMPK things if I am taking a bioavailable curcumin, or just do single doses spaced out by a few days.

petition for ND to change the filler 'maltodextrin' to something else

We almost never use maltodextrin in our formulations. We purposely avoid it, not because of compelling science, but because it is just easier to agree and move on than fight that fight. However, what most consumers don't

Potentially. We are also working with Indena on some new phytosomes that could be good in it, too.

Replying to xabgt · You have commented in other reddit threads, that AMPK stack heavy is too stimulating. It is not necessary add other stimulants like coffee, ... What supplements to add in one AMPK

Hesperidin, EGCG, CoQSol-CF, NMN. I personally would add in quercetin, berberine, and epicatechin, too. However, that is more than 4.
