Questions about Quercetin bioavailability

Original post in this thread

I have read many conflicting studies on the relative bioavailability of Quercetin. I know there are manufacturers that use lecithin to create “phytosome” versions to increase absorption and utilization, but I also know that sometimes just taking a greater amount of a lesser bioavailable form is often the most economical option. Do you guys at ND (or anyone else) have any guidance or knowledge on this?

Here is an example for illustration purposes only; not speaking about the quality of the study at all, just to show the type of study that makes it confusing to pick a quality quercetin supplement:

“Despite the potential benefits, bioavailability of quercetin is low with estimations that only 20% of the administered dose reaches the blood.
This is where Indena’s use of a delivery system based on food-grade lecithin offers a solution: According to data published in European Journal of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics the Quercetin Phytosome (Quercefit) proved to be up to 20-fold more bioavailable.”

I discussed it a few times.

Moral of the story is that normal quercetin raises plasma level in humans with regular dosing. That's why we decided to that one first. I am not opposed to a higher bioavailability version, but the cost/benefit is not going to be there for most people. I eve personally tried EMIQ, or ezymatically modified isoquercetin, and found that to just amplify the side effects while costing a lot more. I will get some of the phytosome in to personally try, though.

⚠️ NEW PRODUCT ALERT | Quercetin Tablets | 500mg | 95% Anhydrous Quercetin ⚠️

Replying to 3ric843 · Damn, sounds like something that should have been added to the green tea extract tablets!

We are adding a lot more flavones/flavonoids. So we wanted them standalone, so people could add/subtract the ones they want. If we start combining too many things, it reduces dosing flexibility.

Refrigerate NMN?

Replying to AntonPirulero · Oh, ok, thank you! Since my goal is to take 1 gram per day, I would have to take 8 of these capsules per day, that works out to $ 216 per month!

One gram a day of our enteric coated tablets is waaaaaaaay too much. The delivery system and control over purity that we have allows for lower dosing. One tablet is good, and two is very strong. I've had some people taki

A few humble product requests.

Replying to iwantmyownname · I thought the price was too much for dihydroquercetin and didn't justify the increase in bioavailability or something like that being that you already have stand quercetin

You are correct on both. However, that doesn't mean we can get the price down enough eventually to have it make sense. I do think dihydroquercetin is better for acute use, but it seems that regular daily dosing of normal
